A perhaps surprisingly close race for governor, a somewhat shockingly close race for the Northern Nevada congressional district, and three Republicans challenging three incumbent Democrats in Nevada’s other U.S. House seats highlight this year’s general election. Hovering above — or weighing down — it all, is President Donald Trump and the impact of his policies and actions, particularly on the economy and the watchword of the 2026 campaign cycle, affordability. Those are some of the storylines in Tuesday’s Nevada 2026 general election. Watch this space for results and more.

A fourth of the Nevada State Legislature seats up this election cycle featured uncontested races — 3 of 11 in the state Senate and 11 of 42 in the state Assembly. Each district heavily favors one political party, which dissuades many in the minority party from entering.
The uncontested winners are:
Nevada State Senate
Nevada State Assembly
Editor’s Note: This post has been updated to correct the Assembly District of Assemblymember-elect Reuben D’Silva. He represents AD28.
