Nearly 30,000 Bexar County voters had cast ballots in person Tuesday morning, and all 302 polling sites opened on time, Bexar County Elections Administrator Michele Carew said.
During a news conference, Carew said in-person turnout reached 29,959 shortly before the briefing.
The first hour was the busiest, with more than 11,400 voters casting their ballots. Turnout has dropped each hour slightly since, though Carew said they expect it to pick up again later in the day.
Carew said the county expects as many as 150,000 people to vote on Election Day. More than 500,000 people voted during early voting, a figure she called “phenomenal.”
Carew will brief the media again at 3 p.m. at the Bexar County Elections Office.
KSAT will livestream the event in this article. Delays are possible; if there is not a livestream available, please check back at a later time.

Most polling sites reported waits of 15 minutes or less as of the briefing, Carew said. The longest lines were at some schools on the West Side.
Bexar County voters will decide key races Tuesday, including the U.S. Senate, Texas governor, several congressional districts and local races for Bexar County judge and district attorney.
Voting centers are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone in line when the polls close is allowed to vote.
