One dog succumbed to injuries sustained in the blaze, officials said. No people were injured and all occupants self-evacuated from the units.
"During overhaul operations, our crews found a missing family cat in the smoke-filled building and carried it to safety," SFFD wrote. "We’re told the cat is going to be OK."
Four residents were displaced following the incident.
