(KRON) -- The driver of a stolen car who crashed into a pedestrian in Hayward on Sunday remains on the run, police said Monday. The pedestrian, Alberto Sena, 46, of Hayward, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The fatal collision occurred around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Gresel Street. Hayward Police Department investigators said a stolen blue Nissan Sentra was being driven northbound on Mission when it hit Sena, who was inside a crosswalk. Both the driver and one passenger fled on foot before officers arrived.

“Witnesses followed the passenger, who was subsequently located and detained by responding officers,” Hayward PD wrote.
The driver was not found and remains outstanding. Authorities said the Nissan was reported stolen out of Fremont on Oct. 22.
